The Baltimore–Washington Superconducting Maglev Project is a proposed project connecting the United States cities of Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., with a 40 mi maglev train system between their respective central business districts. The MAGLEV train project being proposed could have impacts on the paleo resources at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Station and Patuxent Wildlife Research Refuge. Sam Droege at USGS has asked the NHSM Fossil Club to conduct site visits to identify dinosaur tracks and other fossils in and around the proposed trackway. The first site visit will be October 31 with subsequent ones to follow.
