Most people can recognize the Venus flytrap, but few know that it only grows natively in North and South Carolina. This talk will discuss the ecology of this rare plant, its conservation challenges, and recent insights into its pollination biology.
Bio: Laurie Hamon is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Entomology & Plant Pathology Department at North Carolina State University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the pollination ecology of the Venus flytrap.
