An incredible amount of our night sky can be explored with equipment that you may already have as an amateur photographer!
Astrophotography can seem like a daunting niche of photography given some of the equipment that many people see being used by professional astrophotographers.  While the amount of technical expertise and expensive equipment does help those delving deeper into the universe, it doesn’t need to involve all of that!
George Eppig has been taking photos for over 12 years, going back to his first job out of college working on an education schooner called the Lady Maryland.  His photography has mainly centered on the outdoors and wildlife, but with a lifelong interest in astronomy it was only a matter of time before he turned his camera to the night sky about three years ago.  Having been exposed to the outdoors most of his life, he continues to enjoy being outside and enjoying what nature has to offer.  Even better if he gets to spend it with his beautiful wife, Rachel, and 11-month old son, Sawyer.
