Want to know more about early passage migrants and early nesting species, including Pine, Prairie warblers, and Field Sparrows?

The Serpentine Barrens at Soldiers Delight (Soldiers Delight NEA) is a local treasure, and team with birdlife at all seasons; the unique pine-and-grassland-dominated habitats here play host to a wide range of birds. Many, like Chipping Sparrow and Common Yellowthroat, are common and abundant throughout our region; however, Soldiers Delight also supports scarcer species, including Summer Tanager. While all walks are open to all skill levels, this walk is likely to provide repeated opportunities for decent looks at numerous common migrant and resident species, and would be a great walk for newer birders!

Mike Hudson is an educator and biologist who was born and raised in southeast Baltimore City. Mike has spent much of his life in Baltimore and believes that access to the natural world is of critical importance for all communities. It is this belief that informs and compels his work with Birds of Urban Baltimore.
