Bird City Maryland is a recognition program that encourages all communities (cities, counties, and campuses) in Maryland to implement sound avian conservation practices. Pamela Kellett, the Bird City Maryland Coordinator, will answer the following questions: What does it mean to be a Bird City? What are the benefits? How does the program help both avian and human health? What is the process for applying? She will also introduce the new National Bird City Network.
Meet the Presenter: Pamela holds an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University. She has worked as a schooner captain, a Pre-K forest school teacher, and an international project coordinator for trash interception systems located in rivers. When not working, Pamela loves to hike with her dog, talk to her plants, and spend time on any type of boat.
