If mosses intrigue you when you hike and you'd like to know more about them, this is your chance. Using slides, dramatization, models, and microscope work, Linda Davis will introduce participants to moss anatomy, life cycle, ecology, human use, and gardening.

Linda and her husband, Charles Davis, have inventoried mosses and liverworts for the National Park Service at Great Falls Park, Virginia, and at Piscataway Park and Fort Washington Parks in Maryland. They facilitate a Natural History Society of Maryland moss study group that meets monthly at the Benjamin Banneker Center.

Location:  Natural History Society of Maryland - 6908 Belair Road - 21206

Cost: $15 payable in advance only at www.marylandnature.org
