Wild edibles offer a variety of health benefits to you and add unique flavors and textures to your meals. Join Nick Spero for a walk to learn about wild edibles available in the fall. He’ll show you the plants you can pick and nibble along the way, as well as those that you need to bring home to prepare for a meal. You will also learn how to forage in a safe and sustainable manner.

Paw paws should be ripe so plan on bringing a container to collect them. Chanterelle mushrooms should be peaking around this date as well and Nick will instruct you on their identification.

Wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle. Please meet in the parking pull off on Belair Road SOUTH of Mt. Vista Road, approximately 7 miles north of the Beltway. Enter 11203 Belair ROAD, Kingsville, MD into your GPS. Nick's cell phone number is 410-371-7223.

Nick Spero loves to hunt and fish, and primitive technology has piqued his interest since he was a child. Please view this NPR produced video about Nick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1xwtvP9Vls.

Cost: $15 per person. You must register and prepay to attend.
