The Natural History Society of Maryland is presenting its second annual fundraising gala on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

This year’s theme is superstition! Join us to learn about the archaeology and history of superstitions in Maryland, how superstitions changed our relationships with the natural world, and how science can reveal truths more remarkable than anything even the most superstitious among us have ever imagined!

You don’t need a lucky rabbit’s foot to have fun at our event. We guarantee you’ll have a good time. Visit with our curators and learn the science behind their collections. Enjoy light fare, beer, wine and music. Cross your fingers that you win the costume contest and get your most desired treasure at our silent auction.

This is our one fundraiser throughout the year and it will be a terrific way to support us! Victorian costume is encouraged but not required. We guarantee you will have a lot of fun and talk to some of the most interesting people you will ever meet.

Active members of NHSM will receive a $20 discount and the ticket price is tax-deductible!

We give a lot to the community throughout the year (as many of you do when you volunteer for us!) and now we are asking for your support. So come on out and have some fun! It will be great to connect to old friends and meet new ones!

Knock wood that we see you on May 11th!

The Natural History Society of Maryland is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and contributions are tax-deductible.

The mission of the Natural History Society of Maryland is to foster stewardship of Maryland’s natural heritage by conserving its natural history collections, educating its citizenry, and inspiring its youth to pursue careers in the natural sciences.
