Come join us for this epic collaboration between the Natural History Society of Maryland, Great Kids Farm, and the Baltimore Orchard Project! In this workshop-field trip, we will learn how to winter prune fruit trees in the Great Kids orchard space. The Baltimore Orchard Project will teach the basics of pruning, how to take care of tools, and what pruning does for fruit trees both domesticated and wild. After our lesson, we will get a tour of the orchard and a chance to practice our pruning skills.

The workshop and field trip will last about two hours, from 1 to 3 PM on Saturday, February 8th, at Great Kids Farm 6601 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville MD 21228. Please dress warmly and bring whatever you need to make you comfortable in cold temperatures! The orchard is on a pretty intense slope/hill towards the middle-bottom, so all teaching will happen at the top.

If you have any questions, please email Vanessa at vlubiner@marylandnature.org
