Registration

With rapidly developing news of the spread of the coronavirus in Maryland and new guidelines from state and national officials, we have decided to cancel all programs starting March 13, 2020 through Friday, April 10, 2020. Over the next few weeks we will monitor the situation and make decisions about future programming.

Have you ever wanted to gather in the forest or farmland to witness and map all the stars of the night sky? This is your chance to attend a stargazing party lead by Associate Professor of Astrophysics, Parviz Ghavamian, Ph.D, in Sparks, MD. The exact address will be given to registrants a few days before the event.

As we approach the Spring Equinox, we see the light of day and the darkness of night come into balance. This also gives us a special opportunity to see Jupiter at Mars. We’ll also be able to see Orion, Pisces, and a few other constellations that come into our view at this time! Check out some more information about what to observe in the sky for every month of 2020 in Maryland: https://www.baltimoresun.com/weather/bs-md-2020-star-calendar-20200101-hywgfol6vfgipeimo5vyoool3u-story.html

Please bring flashlights and whatever will make you comfortable in the dark and in the cold. Bundle up! There will be indoor and bathroom access, thanks to our host, NHSM’s very on Bronwyn Mitchell-Strong. Also feel free to bring tea, hot chocolate, and other warm beverages.

If you have any questions, please contact Vanessa at vlubiner@marylandnature.org.
