Hello Fossil Club! Please join us for this unique opportunity to collect Miocene St. Marys Formation fossils in Calvert County MD in the Chesapeake Bay. The main attraction is Ecphora. Led by Nick Spero and Tom Drembeck! This is a trip for Fossil Club members. You can become a member here.

Please wear winter and rain appropriate clothing and shoes. Please also bring water, snacks, and whatever will make you comfortable on a long and potentially cold trip. I am not sure how long the walk will be or what kind of trail journey there is yet…I’m working on getting those details from trip leaders.

Please note: This field trip will be conducted under our new COVID-19 specific guidelines. Everyone attending the trip must:

  1. Wear a mask
  2. Bring your own hand sanitizer
  3. Keep physical distance of at least 6 feet
  4. Stay home if you are not feeling well, or if you have been in physical proximity to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is showing symptoms.
  5. You will be asked to sign a COVID waiver and also a Calvert Marine Museum Waiver.

Please contact Vanessa at vlubiner@marylandnature.org and field trip leader Nick sperospc@verizon.net with questions.
