The Natural History Society of Maryland will be offering a nature-themed guided meditation experience to celebrate World Meditation Day on May 21. This  45 minute  session will  include an intro to mindfulness meditation, a reflection on how nature and mindfulness support one another, and will be followed by a guided meditation led by Phillip McKnight, Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, MA Instructional Design

Phillip has experience teaching a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, and abilities and uses his MA in Instructional Systems Design to determine the needs of the participant and help them develop skills in mindfulness meditation with tools for body, heart, mind, and community. Trained in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, Phillip works with participants to use mindfulness practice to help them meet their goals.

The Natural History Society of Maryland is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and contributions are tax-deductible.

The mission of the Natural History Society of Maryland is to foster stewardship of Maryland’s natural heritage by conserving its natural history collections, educating its citizenry, and inspiring its youth to pursue careers in the natural sciences.
