Kick off your New Year off outside with NHSM! Join Naturalist Kerry Wixted on a wintery hike around Annapolis Waterworks Park.

The hike will start in a slightly hilly area filled with beech trees and will wind down to the former Annapolis reservoir. Along the way, we will look for mammal signs and winter birds while practicing winter botany skills. The group will be small so that the pace can be leisurely and full of shared observations.

What to wear/bring: Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring whatever will make you comfortable in the cold such as hand warmers, tea, etc. Feel free to bring a water and a snack, as well as, a hand lens or binoculars if you have them

Attire: This hike will likely cover a couple of miles at a slow pace. There are some small hills and with it being winter, wear sturdy comfortable shoes with good traction are recommended.

Location: Full address will be given up registration

*Family friendly event but the minimum age for this event is 12 years and older.

Additional meet up information will be provided with registration information.

Please contact Tanelle at twilliams@marylandnature.org with any questions.
