Each year, the Natural History Society of Maryland (NHSM) sets up mini-museum displays at schools, festivals, libraries, farmer markets and much more throughout the state. We are asked to attend many more than we can attend. But with more volunteers, we can bring our wonders to more folks.

Are you interested in attending community festivals across Maryland to share the wonders of natural history with the public?
This training will cover the contents of the standard festival kits, including specimens and educational materials, ensuring you are fully prepared for the experience. Participants will learn what to expect at these events, tips for engaging with festival-goers, and strategies for answering common questions about the specimens on display. By the end of the training, you’ll feel more confident and equipped with the knowledge and support needed to successfully connect with the public and inspire curiosity about the natural world.

The Natural History Society of Maryland is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and contributions are tax-deductible.

The mission of the Natural History Society of Maryland is to foster stewardship of Maryland’s natural heritage by conserving its natural history collections, educating its citizenry, and inspiring its youth to pursue careers in the natural sciences.
